Wildlife in Sulawesi

Right in the centre of the Coral Triangle lies the island of Sulawesi. This is the place to go if you are looking for a real jungle adventure, and a close encounter with some extremely rare endemic species of animal. The Black Macaque calls the north of this Indonesian Island home, as do their room mates, the wide-eyed Tarsier. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled in the branches, where you can spot several species of bird, including the Tangkoko Kingfisher. For a marine encounter, you really can’t go past snorkelling the reefs and walls of Bunaken where you will lose count of the sea turtle encounters you have in one go. This is heaven for naturalists of all persuasion.
