Bali

“The Island of The Gods”
Bali is a holiday destination familiar to most Australians.  We, however, want to show you a side of Bali that is special to underwater ocean lovers like us. Bali has some fantastic diving spots that won’t break the bank.
Tulamben, in the northeast of Bali, is home to the wreck of the U.S.A.T Liberty. Hit by a torpedo off the coast of Bali in 1942 with all crew remaining safe, the vessel now lays in 3-30m of water, and is home to a variety of coral and fish life. The water here is warm, and there is plenty to see, making it a favourite for divers.
Amed is another popular destination for divers on the East Coast. Here you can do boat dives to reefs at depths of up to 30m where you may spot some sharks and mantas, or you can also do some great muck diving from shore where you will be sure to find various nudi's, shrimp and seahorse.
For divers wanting to discover a more remote side of diving Bali, we highly recommend making the trip to Pemuteran. This location in the north west of the island is also home to some incredible muck diving, and is also the gateway to diving the walls and reefs of Menjangan. Easy Divers in Pemuteran are also heavily involved in initiatives to protect the local reefs and develop sustainable ocean practices.
So whatever type of dive experience you are looking for, Bali is sure to have something to offer.

When to go

Bali can get humid during the wet season from November to March, but don’t let that stop you. Come to see the Manta Rays during April and May or see the famous Mola Mola from August to November. Bali is a great year-round destination where you will always find something to see and do.

How to get there

There are daily flights to Denpasar with Virgin Australia and Jetstar from most major Australian airports.  If you are after a cost effective and no frills trip we recommend flying with Mailndo – just remember to take your own snacks and drinks. Book early if you’re planning to go during the Australian school holidays for flight availability.

Where to stay

We recommend staying at Tauch Terminal in Tulamben, with their great on-site SSI dive centre.  They also have a few pools and eateries to choose from, and their staff are super friendly.  In Tulamben we can produce several options of bespoke package through our partnership with Easy Divers.

Highlights

Bali is our go to option for divers wanting to get underwater on a budget.  Being so close to home, and with the high quality of diving, this island destination really provides for every diver.
